84: I heard a disturbance in the street…

I went outside, because I heard a disturbance in the street. A neighbour angry with workmen installing fibre, because it was at an unsociable hour. I was a bit surprised as it was only 5pm, but I let him know who the company was so he could make a complaint - no point shouting at the workmen. At that point, he pointed out that the workmen were black, and launched into a massive rant about foreign workers. I asked how he knew they weren't British. He said he's spoken to some before, and the were "Bulgarian or Hungarian or something." And apparently there were three black people on The Chase today, and it used to be all white people on The Chase and I need to open my eyes! Apparently that was the real problem - black people with jobs and on game shows. I stayed calm, and asked what the relevance was, at which point he stormed off into his house. One of the workers thanked me, and I offered them all a cup of tea.
