64: Rural areas are not diverse

We live in the city in an extremely diverse neighbourhood. We love it here, but really miss green spaces and also find the pollution, noise, crime and traffic quite draining at times. We've been exploring the possibility of moving to a more rural area and one of the things that is putting me off is how white these places are. I love the diversity of where we live. I have realised in thinking about this that because we are white I don't have to worry about how my children will be received or treated in school because of the colour of their skin. If I, and we, were black or brown skinned, this would be a serious consideration. I think I'd be worried that my children would be subjected to racism. This is white privilege.
