15: Workplace structures

A colleague from a Bengali background, and I started at the same time. The first thing he noticed coming into the office was that senior white staff sat in a different area to the black/BAME staff. I noticed this injustice 6 months in. The way that he was treated by people in the organization led to him leave. I remain because I didn’t face the same pushbacks and challenges from colleagues. The structures in the place I work fit for me and support me they didn’t for him.
