90: “Luckily my friend is smart and eloquent.”

My brown (her word) friend from Sri Lanka (now living in a European country) was adopted and given a very ‘Western’ sounding name. When she went to the bank a particular employee questioned her aggressively every time over this name and began to lie to her about services, denying her access to her own money. Luckily my friend is smart and eloquent. She went to a superior at the bank, threatening to go to the papers. The employee was made to leave their post but before then, they had probably behaved with appalling racism towards more people than my friend.
