91: “I think they were trying to screen out non-Europeans…”

I am white but I have a hard to place accent. When I was looking to book viewings of rented properties I was told they weren’t available. When my very British sounding parter enquired about the same property they said it was available. If I had booked the viewing in person, showing my very white, Western European face, I have no doubt they’d have been available too. I think they were trying to screen out non-Europeans and Eastern Europeans.
